Sound branding is about linking sounds or acoustic elements in general with a brand or product. The goal is to enable a holistic experience of the brand with the various senses.
A large number of companies place an enormous amount of importance on an appealing exterior or extravagant design when building and spreading a brand or product (for example, through advertising).
But only the right sound (audio logo) leads to a connection to the product or brand on an emotional level. This has the effect that the brand (the product) is given a much stronger identity and is therefore much better remembered.
Commonly known examples of a successful sound branding include the very short, catchy piano line in Telekom's advertising or Apple's sound when booting up the computer. Apart from purely musical audio logos, striking sounds or noises can also be used for sound branding.
It is always advantageous to enhance one's brand or product with a coherent, positive audio logo, as this can increase overall advertising effectiveness.
